This book is bound with iron wood and covered with hand made amate tree paper. Both materials are native to Mexico which is where Bahia de Kino is located. The book contains photos taken by David Sokol on the Kino beach which is on the western coast of Mexico's mainland bordering the Sea of Cortez. The text is composed of exerpts from a Jonn Stienbeck book called "Log from the Sea of Cortez." That book documents a scientific trip he took in 1932 to the Sea of Cortez to explore the natural life of the area. He spent significant time in the area of Bahia de Kino.
